Tim Hetherington was born in Liverpool, UK. As a film maker, he has worked as both a cameraman and director/producer. He was a cameraman on Liberia: an Uncivil War, The Devil Came on Horseback and his directorial debut film Restrepo about a platoon of soldiers in Afghanistan. His most recent film “Diary” is a highly personal experimental short currently playing at film festivals. Tim was tragically killed on 20th April 2011 while covering the conflict in Libya. A terrible loss.
I personally found his history and works, after he died. His work shows a blurry view of things, between war and normality. Rest in peace.
