As a contribution to Gerry Schum’s Identifications, the German artist ”Joseph Beuys”, adapted for television the ”Filz TV” action previously staged for a live audience at a Happening festival in Copenhagen in 1966. It opens with Beuys seated in front of a TV set showing a programme which is invisible because the screen is covered by felt.
Last weekend I was in Berlin and visited the art museum, Hamburger Bahnhof. There were many old and unpublished works by Joseph Beuys. A few of his old performances and installations were recorded. His talent and his view against the capitalism, have inspired me very much. He was always ahead of his time.
